Baby session prep guide

1. Keep Baby Awake: Before heading to the studio, try to keep your baby awake for 1.5-2 hours. Holding them upright, tickling their feet, or talking to them can help. It’s perfectly fine if they fall asleep on the way to the studio.
2. Feed Before the Session: Try to feed your baby 20-30 minutes before the session. This will help keep them calm and settled for photos. If needed, feel free to arrive early and feed them in your car, but please note that feeding during the session is fine, though we are usually on a tight schedule.
3. Bring a Binky/Pacifier: Even if your baby doesn’t normally use one, a pacifier can be a great tool to help distract them during posing or wrapping. Don’t worry—they won’t become reliant on it within the 2-hour session if you decide not to continue using it afterward.
4. Studio Temperature & Snacks: The studio can get warm, so bring extra clothes to change into if needed. For older children, please bring non-messy snacks and drinks to keep them comfortable and entertained.
5. Session Timing: I always start with baby photos and then move to family shots about 35-45 minutes into the session. You may want to keep young children in the car until it’s time for their part or bring something to keep them entertained.
6. Clothing for Family Photos: For the family portion of the session, I recommend wearing neutral-colored clothing to keep the focus on the family and baby.
7. What’s Provided: I will provide everything for the baby’s photos. You’re welcome to bring your own swaddles, outfits, or accessories if you'd like, but it’s not required.
